What to Measure After Launching a Business Website
Track a small set of useful website signals so you can learn which pages, messages, and channels support real business conversations.
A website launch is the beginning of learning, not the end of the project. Analytics can show where visitors come from and what they do, but useful measurement starts with the business decisions you want to improve.
Track meaningful actions
Measure contact submissions, calls, WhatsApp clicks, consultation bookings, downloads, and other actions that represent progress. Page views alone rarely explain whether the site is helping the business.
Separate source from outcome
Use campaign tags and consistent source names so you can compare search, referrals, social posts, email, and direct visits. Connect the source to qualified enquiries where possible, not only to the first click.
Look for friction
Review pages where visitors leave, forms that start but do not finish, slow mobile experiences, and searches that produce no useful result. These clues point to improvements that are more practical than chasing a bigger traffic number.
Review on a regular rhythm
Set a monthly review with one or two actions to test. Change a heading, form question, page section, or call to action, then compare the result over a sensible period rather than reacting to one quiet day.
