Website Maintenance: What to Check Every Month
Use a monthly maintenance routine to protect your website’s content, security, speed, forms, and ability to generate enquiries.
A website is part of your operating system, not a poster you publish once and forget. Small monthly checks prevent broken enquiry paths, outdated information, avoidable security problems, and slow pages from quietly damaging trust.
Send a real test enquiry
Submit the contact form as a customer would. Confirm that the message arrives, the reply address works, the success message is clear, and the person responsible for follow-up knows what to do.
Check the facts customers rely on
Review phone numbers, email addresses, opening hours, prices, locations, service areas, team details, and links. A single outdated detail can create unnecessary calls and make the rest of the website feel less reliable.
Review performance and mobile use
Open the main pages on a real phone and check image loading, menus, buttons, text size, and scrolling. Look at analytics for pages that have become unusually slow or have lost engagement.
Confirm backups and access
Make sure backups are running and that important accounts have current owners, strong passwords, and multi-factor authentication. Remove old access when a supplier or team member no longer needs it.
